Deputy President of the Senate Leads Senators to Katsina for funeral of Yar'Adua's Mother

The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, has led senators to Katsina State for the funeral of the late Hajiya Dada, the mother of the late President Umaru Musa Yar’adua, who passed away on Monday at 102.

Hajiya Dada, who was also the mother of the late Shehu Musa Yar’adua and  Senator Abdulaziz Musa Yar’adua, the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Army, was buried at the Danmarna Cemetery on Tuesday in line with Islamic rite after the funeral prayers at the Katsina Township stadium, Yar’adua quarters, Katsina State.

The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Police Affairs, Senator Abdulhamid Malam- Madori,  Chairman of the Senate Committee on Tertiary Education, TetFund, Senator Muntari Dandutse and the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Science and Technology, Senator Aminu Iya Abbas, were on the Senate delegation.

Senator Barau prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive her shortcomings and admit her to Jannatul Firdausi.

 He also urged Senator Abdulaziz Musa Yar'Adua and all those she left behind to take solace in the fact that she lived a righteous life dedicated to the service of Allah and humanity.

"Hajiya Dada was a devout Muslim who dedicated her life to the service of Allah and humanity. May Allah SWT grant Hajiya Jannatul Firdausi.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Army and Chairman of the Northern Senators Forum, Senator Abdulaziz Musa Yar'Adua and all other persons she left behind. May Allah give them the strength to bear this irreparable loss," he said.
